Network adapter powers off

I installed Windows 7 RC1 a few weeks back and since then, my network adapter will not turn on after shutdowns. In order to get bios (and windows) to recognize the built in network adapter, I have to turn off power to the system by turning off the PSU, then turn it on and start up the system. This is required everytime. Otherwise, both bios and windows will not see the network adapter.

This problem began after I installed Windows 7. This did not happen when I was using XP. I'm very confused by it. Anyone have any idea what may be causing this?

Motherboard: EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i

Thanks in advance

Well, that is why it is beta. Be nice and report this to EVGA.

Mean time you can try an Inexpensive PCI card.

I'm with FLegman on this one. Check and see if there are drivers available for your network adapter. By now there should be at least a beta driver for Windows 7 for your particular device.

If you can't find one, I'd go with Jack's route. You can buy a cheap Intel Pro/1000 Gb card anywhere.

Had a hard time installing Vista and a netwark on a 680i even with Intel Pro/1000 Gb.
I would run a speed test weekly @DSL Com out of the last 8 MB the 680i was the slowest.
The NV chip is the worst for speed + problems disable that suker.
The Marvel Yuken was the better of the two.
I also had the tcp/ip set to User configured.
Even my last 939 MB nf 3 was better.
