Netwatch

With Win 9x there was a program called Netwatcher (netwatch.exe) which was a simple little program which would let you see what other pc's were connected to your pc on a LAN, and what files they had open or were copying.

I can't find this in XP. Has it been renamed/removed? Does anyone know of any other software which will do this?

Similar Program.

Download this free Proggie, unzip and Run (nothing to install). Wait a little and it will tell you these little things that are important to Local Network (including the MAC number).

Link: TCP Network View

P.S. Disable all software firewalls before you use it.

In XP, try going to device manager... click on shared folders... then check out sessions and open files.
