Lets say I have a RAID5 array that was originally connected to a Novell NetWare 6.5 server. Could I take that RAID5 array (external chassis) and connect it to a Windows machine and access the data in the RAID5 array?
yeah I'd pull the same controller (or I actually have multiple of the identical controllers on my shelf sitting here).
NW uses FAT if I recall... Im no NW expert, thats the problem
Netware uses a fat partition to boot from - but the actual data sits on another partition which is most likely in a file system unsupported by Windows - used to be nwfs, looks like 6.5 uses a system called nss.

I remember seeing a filesystem driver that read NWFS, but there were some legal questions about it and the source was a bit of an ass so it never got included in the main kernel. You might be able to find it, but you'll probably have an easier time installing a new copy of NetWare and copying the data via that.
none of these utils are seeing my (missing) volume(s) after the RAID5 rebuild. They all seem to state they can recover from delete, formatted etc HDs but no suck luck thus far. I've emailed a few of the more reputible looking companies support basically saying "Hey Ill buy it TODAY if you can even suggest what might be going on here... " No word back.
