was bored and have an extra usb gps, i put it on my laptop and ran a couple errands. turns out i found over 1K aps in less than 8MI of driving. only problem is that i can't find a program to convert the file to be used w/ mappoint 2k9.

i was amazed at the shear amount of aps in such a small area and put them into mappoint 2k9 - any converters?

inSSIDer has GPS functionality in it. Not sure if it works the same way as Netstumbler did, but it's worth a shot.

thanks, a little buggy but works a bit better w/ my onboard network and give better info in the kmz/kml. only issue, sometimes i get a bsod when i click on the gps, but my gps is giving a slightly older standard, so maybe that is it?

it is still there but hasn't updated in quite some time, and anytime i have been on their forum, man, talk about a bunch of dicks. my wireless chipset isn't really supported so i can't see what type of encryption, etc - not that that is a big deal to me since i am just doing it for fun, but the forum is horrible for noobs.
