Yea, I know netscape sucks, but the new one seems ok. I downloaded it, but I'm not really sure if i like it. I heard it ran faster then IE, but I can't really tell. What do you guys all think?

Netscape.exe:

The biggest distributed virus ever.

IE sucks too, but it isnt as bad as nutscrape.

Netscape lost the browser wars years ago. I haven't used it since IE4 came out.

It makes more sense to use Mozilla since Netscape is always several builds behind. And yes, Netscape/AOL may suck, but the browser itself doesn't.

IE for me. All campus computers have netscape, so I have to open up IE from my home directory and use it. I have netscape. I also hate how long it takes to open the d@mn browser.

Of course many people are going to say that Netscape sucks when so many web sites are designed specifically for IE, ignoring most W3C standards. :frown:

put mozilla and opera on the poll.

Like the other guy said there is no reason to use netscape anymore when its just a behind bloated version of mozilla.

Past (~3 years ago): Netscape was the de facto standard and Internet Exploder was a joke.

Present: Internet Explorer is the de facto standard and Nutscrape is a joke.

Yah, add more choices to the poll. IE is the bast between IE and netscape, but there are more browsers out there, and i personally think opera is going to become a very good browser.(it's a great browser now, but you know what i mean)

I use both NS 6.2 and IE 5.5. I think fonts resolve nicer in NS. I also like the fact that my old NS 4.7x tricks work.

1. All cookies are in one file, COOKIES.TXT. I make that a zero byte, Read Only file, and set it to accept all cookies. Every site "thinks" it has written its cookie, but it doesn't happen. :)

2. I keep a copy of a defined startup file, PREFS.JS to a reference directory, and my AUTOEXEC.BAT copys that back to NS on boot up. That way, NS always starts where I want it to.

3. I nuke my cache on bootup.

It's all much easier in NS than in IE. :D

I'm gonna throw in Opera. Opera 6.0 is seriously faster than IE (regardless of connection) and keeps to itself, and still works after you wipe the OS and reinstall (you don't have to reinstall the browser)

I like software that can keep to itself.

NS just started sucking more and more after 3.0x, and in its current form of crap, has nothing on IE IMO. I'd rather use Mozilla which NS is based on, if IE sucked. Speaking of NS, does anyone remember 5.0? Did it go from 4.7x->6.0?
