I've been updating my copy of Mozilla over the past year...it's really improved in the last few months..
That K-Meleon browser won't even load the forums right, doesn't support cookies...I've always liked NetCaptor though

jonnyGURU: Actually I was a beta tester about a year ago when it was still in production. I haven't actually tried the release version but I assumed it would almost the same thing as the release version with patched bugs as most other beta software is.

I am also aware that the AOL IM can be left out in the install process, but what i'm bitching out is that I like the idea of it being integrated within the browser, it's just that they should have allowed more features that are present in the standalone version.

I usually use IE 5.5 but I downloaded opera and really like it. From guru's post I think I'll give NS6 a try. None of the previous have worked well for me. Thanks for the info all.

Mule: Ah yes! I tried the Beta as well and I admit that it sucked rocks the size of Montana. I can imagine your disgust. After my experience with the beta, I was as hesitant about using NS6 as I would be sticking a fork into an electrical outlet.

Netscape 6 is basically 100% standards-compliant, but also amazingly tolerant of non-compliant HTML. If a page that worked in IE5.5 doesn't work in NS6, that's the webmaster's fault for going over-board with IE-specific "features".

And NS6 starts slower than IE because IE is basically integrated into Windows, a happy side-effect of Microsoft force feeding you IE. When you start Windows, you pretty much start IE. Makes me wonder if Netscape couldn't do something similar.

You know, this K-Meleon deal isn't too bad with the DLLs from mozilla's nightlies...

Of course Netscape could be made to be loaded at start-up just as IE is, however everyone would start critisizing such a behaviour (and rightly so). What is surprising is that only few people bitch about the higher time needed for booting and the additional RAM required to hold IE in background.

I haven't tried a recent build of Mozilla yet as I am VERY contend with Opera, however I've recently read that Opera 5 will be adware which will definitively make me either stick to Opera 4.02 or switch to Mozilla (not happily though).
