Netscape 6.0....SUX!

IE 5.5 sucks too. Not as much as Netscape 6 though. Both are bloated and buggy. I say either IE 5.01 SP1 or Netscape 4.76.

The preview releases blew,so i am not surprised. Which is a shame because i like Nscape 4.76. I use both that and IE 5.01.I tried IE 5.5 and it was awfully slow and bloated

Yeah Netscape 6 is pretty raw yet, but let's wait a little... 6.1 or sth. might turn out to be hell of a good browser. Don't tell me that I must change to IE 5.5... that's not browser, that's just BS...

Netscape 4.7 was the last "real" Netscape version as far as i am concerned.

AOL now owns Netscape and they developed 6.0 into the crap it is...
AOL ruins everything they touch.(My opinion)

Netscape 4.7, and IE5 are still the best. (My Opinion)

if you ever get into webdev, you'll realize netscape is frusterating as heck to deal with and slow.

i used to be a hardcore netscape person, but IE just is faster and slicker, and loads pages properly. you have to pull netscape around by the teeth like a dog, and train it, it drains away on the development time.

just a developer's perspective...

I just can't belive how lame it is. I mean I thought Microsoft software was supposed to be the rubbish one. Here are the problems that i've had with it:

When downloading if I did any other sort of internet activity the download manager would restart the download (from netscapes non-resuming ftp server). Now I was pissed enough with MS for doing these lame downloading installers.. but at least the MS one actually works.

The second problem is that now that I've finally installed it, it errm, doesn't load. All it gives me is that taccy loading screen (looks like it was done by some lame company like AOL.. ohh wait.. it was 😉).

IE5.01 SP1 is fast, feature complete, and well... works. I can't see any reason for a change.

For me the last 'good' netscape version was Netscape 3, and the early versions of 4. if i'm not mistaken Netscape 4.7 does that thing where it sends the address of what site you are going to to keywords.netscape.com (or something). Not something I like the idea of.

It's a pitty really. Is isn't a good advert for Open Source development.

EDIT: Argh... not even the uninstaller loads...
