I agree, Shux. I just installed it this morning and noticed the speed right away.

Can't say that I see any other change, though. You?

I used netscape as an alternate for some pages and found that I can't use Netscape while my ZoneAlarm Firewall had internet connections locked.

It was a real disappointment really, atleast mozilla 15+ allowed me to surf the net without any problems while having my firewall on. If someone and has zonealarm also pls tell me if the problem is fixed cuz like someone said 19mb to find out it doesn't work is a waste of time.

Shark..netscape will never crash if you set both its caches to 0(but you'll need a broadband connection like me)

running 4.74 now and yes it does feel faster

Denis -- <<Why complicate things and waste over an hour of my life downloading 19MB if I have IE5.5 and like it?>>

Uh... because M$ hasn't issued a security patch since yesterday? Wonder what they'll try to fix, tomorrow (and what will break because of the patch)?

denis -- No, but as far as I know, Micr$loth hasn't released a product that wasn't a buggy beta since DOS 6.22. :Q

And, for what it's worth, I also believe that, unlike IE, it can't be attacked by VBS Script Hosting viruses like CIH, Happy99, and I Love You.

Doesn't mention anything there about increase in speed, Shux. ;)

Right, Harvey...so I stay as far away from IE and Outlook as I can get. :)

Hmm will have to d/l it tonight and check it out. I laugh every time I hear about a new exploit in IE or outlook:D. Has there ever been a major security flaw in NS 4.x?

Yeah, yeah...I know hippy. While it's still the better browser, I'm staying with it...but I'm sure AOCrap will ruin it in time.

Yeah ok maybe it's a tad faster BUT I don't like the way my ms wheelmouse behaves and Netscape generated errors and was shut down by win2k when all I wanted to do was paste something into messenger that I cut from Paint. I pasted the same cut into Outlook 2k without a problem. If you have Linux, it's probably great. (what else is there anyway) :) It's comming off. I do like messenger, what a shame. Outlook ain't that bad.

The only thing I like about netscape is that it makes bad web designers look worse. Pages look like crap if you dont know how to code html properly or if you use that crappy MS Frontpage.

Damn MS, those Bastards are always updating the security of their browser to make it as safe as possible! :| (and yes, that was sarcasm)

It doesn`t matter what MS does, someone will always complain about it:
One second I hear "but Linux is updated all the time, so it`s better", the next second I hear "MS always updates IE, it has got to be insecure!".

IE is IMHO the superior browser, the only argument people have against it is "umm...it`s MS so it`s bad!", and that`s just weak.

Hasn't anyone considered that more insecurities have been revealed in IE than Nutscrape because it's so much more popular? Just a thought.

What a joke! I'm using Netscape 4.7 w/Win98. I clicked on the Help/Software Updates in Netscape to go to the Netscape update site and the site tells me "Your computer's platform is incompatible with SmartUpdate". It says I need to be running Win95/98, WinNT, Win3.1, or Mac PPC. Mmm. . . I guess I better uninstall Win98 and install Win98!
