Netgear WPN824 router keeps losing IP address

My Netgear WPN824 router keeps dropping the IP address randomly. When this happens, the computer is still connected to the router, but internet is temporarily cut off. When I check the connection status, it says the "Lease Expires" is only about an hour. However, the router may lose the ip address before then. It is almost random when this happens and I have no idea what to do. Kind of annoying especially if I am trying to download large files.

I've tried setting the MTU to 1400, disable 108mbps mode, disable extended range, and even repositioning the router. When I connect my DLink DI-524, there is no problem at all. The only reason why I am still sticking with the Netgear is because it covers my house better than the DLink.

Any other ideas before I give up on this router? I found quite a few posts on the internet with people having similar issues with this router, but no solution.

You've obviously elminated all other issues and it is the router. Sounds like it's time to upgrade to something you can flash with Tomato, DDWRT, etc.
