Netgear wireless router

It has the default login and passwd which is admin/password and it won't let me login.
keeps giving back the login dialog.

Anyway to fix it? How do I reset configs? I tried pressing the black small button in the
back but it didn't help.

There is a reset button at the back of most Netgear routers. Try holding that in for a bit whilst the router is on. You should then see all the lights on the router suddenly freeze. My default login details were actually admin/1234

doesn't the reset button have to be held for 30 seconds?

my netgear router the default password was admin with no username

changed it for security reasons since it is a wireless network.

maybe your parents/roommate changed the password?

i used this http://www.fulton.net.au/qt006.htm to get the default password.

i don't remember the model, i'm not at home right now. but i will try holding it down for 30 seconds. or until the lights freeze.

Yes, you have to hold down reset, 30 seconds sounds about right but do watch the lights.
