I have a NetGear MR814v2 wireless router. I've been using it for a while and it works jsut fine. However, it's connected to the internet through my SMC Router which is acting as my DHCP server for my desktops. I want to configure the NetGear router to basically act as a Hub instead of a Router so any PCs I plug into (or wirelessly connect to) the router will pull their IP based on my SMC router and therfor would be able to share files and such with the other PCs I have.
I went into the setup for the NetGear and added my 2 wireless card's MAC address to the access list which worked fine. I then found the setting to the NetGear act as a DHCP server (which is ON by default) and I turned it OFF.
Then everything went to hell and I coudln't connect to anything. Do I need to do something else to get this to work right?
I don't want just anyone to be able to connect to my network (thus adding the MAC addresses to the NetGear) but when *I* connect, I want to be able to get to my other computers.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
