Reading all the reviews of the AC WIFI adapter really made my heart sink.

But I used the logic of having 25 years of IT under my belt and I bought it anyway.

I hooked it up using just the drivers and not the glorious GUI that coems on CD with it.

Once connected to my new AC wifi router downstairs and woot!
Indeed it works like a champ and very fast!

All the bad reviews on amazon tell of reboots and slow connection.
I bet they plugged it into a USB 1.0 slot! Hahahaha!

I should add that I am watching netflix and playing world of warcraft at the same time and ZERO lag!

So if you are in the market then go get one!

Sounds like you got lucky! I have had many usb devices, maybe not the one you're mentioning but they've always given me issues. I spent 35$ on a dual band internal card and tripled my speeds

Back back in the early days of USB wifi they often overheated.

The netgear 6200 that I bought also has air vents to help keep it cool.
