My WGR614 just died on me (out of warrenty) and I want to but a new one (I want the same kind, mimo, pre-n, and draft-n are a joke, since they work with nothing else and are completely useless once the standard actually finalizes...). However, I want to make sure that I get a v7 and not an older v6 (i just bought some extra routers of this kind with friends and some got v6 and some v7).
The reason v6 is unacceptable is because it has a bug in any firmware above V1.0.11_1.0.7NA where all the IPs on the port forwarding tables are switched to 192.1.168.192
And the last firmware update for that router was over half a year ago (I mailed customer support about it... they said they are "working on it"...)
Since it does not say so on the box, I wanted to know what serial number range would be for the new v7 routers? I could just buy and return it a bunch of times until a get lucky, but that is:
1. A chore.
2. Not fair to fry's or Netgear.
