Netgear WGR614 DSL Router compatibility with SBCGlobal DSL

I am planning on using a new Netgear WGR-614 Cable/DSL Wireless router to share my SBCGlobal/Yahoo DSL connection to my 4 computer home network. Question is there any compatibility issues between the PPPoE protocol used by SBC DSL and this piece of hardware? I have read where some DSL companies do not work with some routers because of this issue. Anybody out there using SBCGLOBAL/DSL with this router?

Another question is does this router work with other brands of 802.11g WIFI Cards or must you use the Netgear Brand card WG511? 😕

I know of people using SBC/Yahoo with Netgear routers and the PPPoE works just fine with SBC. It should be fine but maybe someone else on SBC with that exact router will be able to tell you for sure. So far I have not had any problems with any router I have tried with SBC/Yahoo and I have tried most of the brands out there for me and for other friends I have set up.

Thanks dennis. How do you like the unit thus far. Any cons that you can share about this router?

Are you using the Netgear wireless NIC cards in your computer or some other brand?
