Hi,

I've been testing firmware 5.0_07 for a day or so and the AIM disconnect problems seemed to have gone away. So far so good. It is available here http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/wgr614v4.asp but is listed as version 5.0_04.

let's hope this works. i'm tired of the aim disconnects and extremely slow web browsing. i have none of these problems when hooking my computer up directly to the cable modem.

HD crashed again on my router. Curse moving parts, looks like I'm back to using the Netgear.

Performed the flash upgrade yesterday, I've been steadily connected to AIM since.

fixed my aim probs but internet still goes horribly slow and sometimes pages don't even attempt to load (just get an instant server not found error)

looks like i'll be hooking my computer up directly to my cable modem for now until i get a new router :\. my parents are out of town so they won't miss their wireless ;)

I have WGR 614v5 and updated the firmware because I was having the same problem with two separate compoters running xp and zone alarm pro on a wired network and i had to set the firewall control on za to med and not engage the internet lock when away from computers and this solved my problem and also set my security in ie to med defaults and my problem has gone away but befor these changes I basocally had the same problem good luck to the rest of you with this problem. Also when I tuned the za off the problem would go away.
