not bad considering theres no rebates involved. i've had good experiences with netgear in the past, so i might get that one instead.

i was considering getting this
but i could find 0 info about it. not even on linksys's website. plus the "Promotional Packaging" wording seems a little odd..

especially for an emergency back up router, just in case.

The Frys one seems to be a different version of that specific model as mine does not look like that. I have the one that looks like the one on newegg.

Pros: Cheap and does what it is supposed to do... decent firmware. Great for surfing.

Cons: The signal does drop on occasion when you try to serve a game or anything that has a lot of connections (voip too). The 2dbi antenna on the model I have is non-removable not sure about this one.

I would get this if I had more info on it.

If you don't have Fry's or don't want to pay shipping, there are a couple of alternatives available:

Staples has the WGR614NA for $19.99 no rebates here SKU 511397.

CompUSA has the WGR614NA for $19.99 after $40 erebate with free shipping here. SKU 302517

I don't know if there is any difference between WGR614NA and WGR614 other than look. Stores seem to use the 2 model names interchangeably.

Solid deal. I bought this router about 3 years ago and ran it without any problems at all, except for the very rare "restart" needed (likely caused by all the power outages in my area). It's a solid performer, and a value. I recently upgraded to the WPN824 purchased via a Woot deal for about $35.

Ya, a lot of the Netgear (maybe any router, I've only used Netgear) seem to have this problem with any disturbances in power. I just make sure my router is running off a UPS and it solves the problem.

But definitely a nice deal, I'll be picking this up a few of the USB G adapters to set up a wi-fi network for my parents.
