I upgraded the firmware on my Netgear RT314 router and now I can't log into the setup options into the router. I tried unplugging it for a few minutes but that didn't help.
any way to reset the router. If its busted any way I could use it as a hub?
There should be a button on the back - not in plain sight, and you'll need a paper clip or pen tip to press it - usually have to hold that button for a few minutes, look for it or check the manual.
Holy crap... I thought I was the last person left that still had one of these routers... gotta love the fact that it has a telnet interface too =)
I could've sworn that there was a reset button buried in the back of that thing. I'll have to check on mine when I get home.
Then again... i think that when i first got it, I pooched it somehow and had to take it back to frys for an exchange.. so maybe not... will update later tho!
Mine is still going strong too!
For the OP, IIRC, the only way to "fix" a bad flash is to use the seriel connect to get in.
Check out DSL Reports they have always had good info on these routers. Unfortunately thier search is down at the moment but I remember reading how to recover a bad flash there a few years ago when I got the router.,
Also the Netgear site has PDF manuals etc Netgear RT 314
