Netgear RT314 Irregularity

Here's a question. I used to have to go in and open up port 6699 in my Netgear RT314 to make Napster work on my system but now all of a sudden I don't have to. This concerns me. The only thing I have changed on my system is that I configured as a Network Server rather than a Home PC in Settings->System->Performance->File System. I am running WIN98SE. Even after configuring it back to a Home PC and rebooting I can still open Napster without having to open up port 6699. Is this a problem or something to be concerned about or not?

Napster will work behind routers and firewalls unless you are trying to connect to someone else behind a firewall or router. Forward the port anyway to make sure you can connect to everyone.
