Netgear Router WGR614 v2 Problem

I'm having issues sporadically with my Netgear router. Sometimes, all four port lights will turn on simultaneously and start blinking and I'll receive a Windows XP alert that my network connection is unplugged. When I unplug the router and replug it in all seems to go well for a while longer. Sometimes, it happens over and over, and sometimes it doesn't happen at all. I have a Toshiba cable modem, and it seems to be pretty stable. These problems didn't start happening until I installed the Netgear router, and only after a few months of having it installed did I ever notice a problem with it. I disabled WEP and enabled WPA because I had heard somewhere that WEP was more resource intensive, but that didn't solve the problem either.

Should I scrap the Netgear Wireless-G WGR614 v2 and go with something else? I have an unopened Belkin 54G F5D7230-4 v1112 that I bought last night at CompUSA during their 6 hour sale. I haven't opened it yet though. I could really use anyone's expert advice on where to go from here.

Thanks so much.

Yes, I'm on the latest firmware revision. The problem just happened again a couple of hours ago. All 4 numbers on the router flash, and then I get the network connection popup in XP at the bottom right. A few minutes later, or with an unplug and replug of the router, everything is ok again.

I've go the same router (vs 1, how do I know?). I'm connected to comcast rentamodem. My wired network works good, but Wireless went from okay to this thing sucks! I think it's after I upgraded the firmware. I'm going to try the beta version out. If that don't work I'll go back to v1.1. Worst case, running cat5 all over the freakin house.

Let me know if you want me to try anything.
