My Asus AC66U died an early death. I replaced it with a Netgear R7000 but am having a deal breaker of a problem. I have a Fire TV in the living room and bedroom. Both connect to router and can browse material just find. The problem is it doesn't stream anything most of the time. It doesn't matter what service; prime video, netflix or hulu. All of them error out. If I switch to the Apple TV it works just fine. One is wired and one wireless so that's not the problem. It's not a constant problem, maybe 40% of the time. Any ideas? I really don't want to exchange this for a Linksys but that's what I am going to have to do if I can't get this corrected.

My Fire TV and Fire TV Stick both work great with the R7000. Are you using the stock firmware or have you upgraded to DD-WRT?

The problem continued and had to make a change. I couldn't do another Asus, between the firmware issues and fast death of my previous one. Didn't want to try another Nethear so I returned it and bought a Linksys WRT1900AC. I'm concerned about the result of what Belkin takeover is but we'll see how it does. I've used the top line Linksys router since the WRT54G days and bought a new one every couple of years when the tech upgraded. So far so good, good speed, good coverage and no issues with my Fire TVs. We'll see how it goes long term.
