This device is very slow. There's a firmware update that fixed unspecified bugs (hopefully helps with the slowness), but the updater doesn't work. And Netgear's tech support is completely incapable of supporting firmware updates on this product (voice of experience). I would not recommend this product.

Hmmm.... That hasn't been my experience.

I upgraded my firmware fine and have had no problems with my Brother HL-1850 duplex printer which is networked with 4 other computers.

I picked up one of these a while back. No problems with my Canon i860. I thought it printed very fast myself. Seems to print faster than when connected directly to the USB.

I picked one up from CUSA a while back and it's been working just fine for me. It does NOT allow you to access any multi-purpose printer functionality (i.e. scan, copy) but it's alright for being an inexpensive print server from a fairly reliable company.

I got one for $10 AR from compusa a while back. Works just fine on our HP laserjet 1220. In fact, it starts printing FASTER than it did when it was on a computer lol. Instead of a 6 second wait before it starts, its like 2 seconds.

And yeah, the multi function stuff doesn't work, but you wont be able to get that to work on almost any USB print server. I've seen one or two that would do it, but they are significantly more expensive and have some severe disadvantages.

yeah, none of them really let you do that anyways. this seems like a good deal if you hate dealing with ebay.

I would be all over this if it was wireless. My router is full and I would rather not buy a switch. Definately a good deal though.
