netgear mr814 and port forwarding. What the hell is the matter with it?

IT simply won't work. I'm not a newbie to computers and home networking either. I can select 192.168.0.3 for forwarding, but an ftp is always "connection refused" when trying to connect ( to my external IP, of course).
