CompUSA has the Netgear WGB511 Cable/DSL 54 Mbps Wireless Router & 54 Mbps Wireless PC Card as a bundle for $19.99 after rebate here. good 8/28-9/01

rebates are $30 mfr MIR here and add'l $30 mfr MIR here.

They also have the Netgear MR814 Cable/DSL Wireless Router, 802.11b 298420 for $2.99 after $30 MIR. MIR is the same as the first one above. Limit 2 rebates per product.

They're not Netgear, it's Airlink (the Fry's/Outpost brand). I never figured out how to link directly to an Outpost product, but it's part # 4056592 if you want to search at OUTPOST.

I got a nice netgear 802.11g router this weekend at best buy for $30 after instant rebate. I'm very impressed, small, nice design, all the features found in more expensive routers, and very user friendly. Their router config software is top notch!

EDIT: this was the one except in store they had it for $30 after instant savings. Excellent deal!

So is the wireless PC card in this bundle for use in laptops only, or can I use it in my desktop PC? Doesn't appear that I can, unfortunately that's what I need.

You can use it in a desktop, if you have a spare pcmcia slot. Which most desktops don't even have. You can buy a PCI card with a pcmcia slot.
