Netgear G problem

My friend who have two identical netgear G wireless routers, one at home and other at work. The problem is his laptop only recognize one netgear G network on his laptop let say if his laptop is working at home, then at work his laptop don't recognize the second router that is the same model. I am not sure what is the problem, hope you guys can help out find the problem.
