Does anyone have one of these puppies? It sounds SOOO nice... but...

I have owned a lot of crap routers. So... anyone have any info?

It's impressive as hell, I'll say that much. I would want to see the management interface first before jumping on it, but if they didn't screw it up, it could very well be a low-end Juniper/Cisco killer. We use a Juniper router, and it's just got these _restrictions_ that keep popping up (a $700 router should be able to handle more than 10 machines at a time!). Interface is really good, but functionality was intentionally crippled. Looks as if the Netgear doesn't have that problem.

Some searching reveals that it has major lockup problems with the current firmware. I wouldn't buy it until these have been verified as resolved one way or another.

I have never been a big fan of netgear equipment but I can say for the price I may buy it just to play with it. Has a lot of potential so well see. I am going to order one today. Worst comes to worst ill sell that sh1t on eBay.

I was VERY interested in this, but the soekris box running pfsense that I am using is amazing....the ruleset wizard is awesome. It looks afar more capable than the netgears...yes, I read the netgear manual😱

Soekris boxes are pretty neat. I've been thinking about getting one to load OpenBSD on.

I am returning mine....I tried pfsense but had no luck...with too many rules the mahine would bog down....maybe I should try m0no before i return it, no?

I was about to try this netgear (made my boss buy it) but I got fired before i had a chance to test it out😱

It's not the fastest of machines, so if you need a million rules a soekris isn't the best option. I'd wonder if it's just a messy rule issue though. 😛

Getting fired isn't good. Don't do that anymore. 😉

netgear management system suck. they treat you like a noob ;( . All the www.routerlogin.com/ crap and if you want edit without software/cd support you do www.routerlogin.com/basicsetting.htm. err i am not a fan of netgear even dlink has a much better management system. Also when editing the setting , again treat you like noobs. That router is built are built for noobs ;!

when they start to give more option in management then and have a iplogin system like most router then I will buy their router until then no 🙁
