Netgear FA311 drivers for win2k load, but no link light

I have a Biostar M5ALA, Ali chipset. Netgear FA311 10/100 NIC, Linksys 5-port Workgroup Hub, and Windows 2000 Server. The card works fine in Windows 98 SE and RedHat Linux 9.0. When I install it under Windows 2000 Server, the drivers load fine, but I can't get a link light from my hub to the card. It didn't work from a clean install, so I've been through Win2k SP1, SP2, and SP3...same results. I've swapped cables, pci slots, hubs, and I've gone through all the connection speeds to rule out auto-sensing 10/100. Does anyone have any ideas? (If you don't have any ideas, a Louisville Slugger will suffice.)
