Netgear Class Action Settlement

The way I read it, any qualifiers get to "purchase a new Netgear wireless product from Netgear's online store at a 15% discount..." oh, plus free shipping. Forgive me if I'm less than impressed. 🙁 Although they do say the 15% is before any rebates, discounts or promotions thay may be offering at the time on the products.

Zev B. Zysman

While everyone else gets a %15 Discount off netgear online store products?

And why is that I can buy Netgear products at 25% less then than on-line store?

Of course, that was the whole point of the exercise to begin with.

Some stupid Misleading Advertising claim or something. It lsits like every Netgear product every produced and you get a whopping 15% off. This is the most rediculous class actino suit I've ever seen.

Agreed. The only people who benefit from this are the stinking lawyers.

THe plaintiffs must have had a HORRIBLE legal team. 15% off a product is rediculous. I am within this class (I purchased a number of Netgear wireless B equipment in 2002) and will not bother to even read the rest of the "settlement".

Who ALWAYS wins out in these legal actions? ... the lawyers or course!

Forgive me for being lazy and not reading, what did they get sued over?

The complaint alleges that the ?Covered Netgear Wireless Products,? as defined below, do not achieve the advertised Mbps rates under alleged ?real-world? operating conditions described in the
complaint.

I don't get it. Why were they sued and by who?

No details are availablebut it seems as if Netgear stated taht the wireless would provide a set throughput and they do not do so under "real world" conditions.

The plantiff apparently thought that they could get some easy money and only got 15% off on a single future purchase within 1 years time. Unless they arranged some kick back from the lawyers.

Kind of like the EPA mileage for your vehicle.

Meh, none of them do. I don't feel like collecting on this either. The people who brought up this lawsuit are idiots.

i some what agree, only problem i saw with mine was the default packet forwarding profile they have for AIM, i sent them an e mail about it and the said they would look into it

i can get serial numbers for like 20 products that i've purchased over the last 4 yrs that all seem to qualify based on a cursory examination of the list of qualifying products.

wonder if i can stack these coupons. 😉
