Netflix's Cowboy Bebop

JEDI

Spike, Jet Black, and Faye Valentine:

Daniella Pineda seems like the wrong body type for Valentine.

It is scheduled to be released November 19, 2021 on Netflix.

I know he's probably too old now, but I always thought Ron Perlman would have made a good Jet.

Not feeling the choice for Faye either, giving me doubts.

Huge Bebop fan, but frankily I'm more curious about the Fallout and WoT series.

Nope nope nope. Did Netflix not learn from the clusterfuck that was their live-action Death Note movie?
Death note would never have worked as a movie, there's too much content to work through, and 'light touching' the plot just makes it seem contrived and stupid. Cowboy bebop is literally space bounty hunters, they could shot-for-shot the anime movie and it'd be great.

I’ve heard stuff about Cowboy Bebop since the late 80s(?) but never had interest because the creepy nerdy guys really liked it.
Can someone give me a brief overview on what it is?

Is it me or does Netflix pretty much suck lately?
Just you. Netflix brought me Castlevania and The Witcher, which has brought me great joy.

Small group of exceedingly capable bounty hunters, sketchy history, probably sketchy future, and very few anime-isms (you know what I'm talking about). Think Firefly with a jazz soundtrack.

I have not seen the Netflix version of The Witcher yet but I have to admit it looks interesting based on the positive reviews. No interest in Castlevania or really any other of Netflix's newer titles.

Thing is there's no "30-day free trials" to check out/binge one show I'd like to see and I'm really not excited about paying Netflix every month again for less content then was there when I dropped them.

What's your interest? I assumed a venn diagram between this forum and stuff like castlevania/the witcher would just be a circle.

Genre-wise absolutely but that particular animated series just didn't capture my interest from looking at previews. (never actually watched it)

Having played all three Witcher games is the reason that particular show interests me somewhat ... but still not signing up for one show.

So just pirate it? 😛

Seriously, both are excellent.
