I have read plenty of threads here complaining about Netflix and messing up orders, customer service, etc.

My situation:
I rent most of my movies from blockbuster, usually cost me around $13 each time I rent movies. It's also a pain to drive back down there to return them, Netflix has a plan for $14.99 that I can get 2 DVD's at a time, with no monthly limit. Thats what it cost me to rent 4 movies from Blockbuster one time a month.

So my question is, is Netflix worth it?

Thanks

I've never had a major problem with netflix... my turn-around is usually 1-2 days at most.

Just get Blockbuster online. It's totally worth the $18, plus now you can return in store and get free movie rentals that way too.

well u know how it is, the complainers scream the loudest.
if you expect all new releases right away, well netflix ins't for you. if you have wider dvd taste/tv dvds/documentaries/indy films/classic films..then well u can really stack that queue. guess it depends on your personality too. if u can't wait, its not for you.

i've had it from first year the company started. certainly beats buying dvds and you get used to not caring which dvd u get after a while.

even then, you get the new dvd's in the first 2 weeks of its release on dvd, if not the very first day.
I love netflix, have the 17.99 plan for 8 months or so now. love it, cant believe i lived without it b4. ok ok a little exageration, but u got the point. hehe :) and no complaints here either.

Just get blockbuster onlnie. They changed the plans about two weeks ago. Being able to return the movies in the store practically doubles your movie rentals. If you bring 3 online movies to return in the store, you get 3 free in store rentals, and the next 3 movies in your list gets shipped out. The same price as netflix too boot.

Netflix is good, if you are already going to Blockbuster you may want to try their service as well. They both have 2 week trial periods so you can try them out and see which you like best.

I'm happy with Netflix. Their shipping is not always the fastest to my area, but I usually get a new movie within a week.

it is awesome, the main complainers are the people that want to rip the movies and not watch them right away, so they want to get 30 movies a month. not realistic

if you are a normal person and just get a movie, watch it within a few days and return it, it works great

I've had Blockbuster online and Netflix. Turnaround on Blockbuster was twice as long as Netflix and the selection was meager.

Netflix has been great to me even though I canceled them 2 months ago.

It's the quality of today's movies. Lots of crap and remakes. Hollywood no longer strives for creative blockbusters. Today Hollywood is run by MBAs who crank out crappy remakes which they no someone will watch. They discourage taking a chance on creative endevours. It's all about low risk investments and money. Of course this is all just my opinion.

I've had Netflix for several years.

I have NEVER had a rboken disk.
I have NEVER had an unplayable disk.
I have ALWAYS gotten movies within 2 days, even new releases, when at the top of my queue.

And I rent at least 4 movies a week on average.

I have had both Blockbuster and Netflix. I was not happy with Blockbuster at all. Almost everytime I went to get my free store rental everything was out, and there service was very slow. The new return policy may make it better though. If you order a pizza from Papa Johns online, you get a free month with Blockbuster.

Netflix has been bad and good to me. When I was going through them fast, I would notice that some movies going back would take up to five business days to say I returned it. Also I could never get new releases until they had been out at least two months. However, in the past few months I have not had as much time to watch movies, and now my service is excellent. I returned a movie on Monday and had the Da Vinci Code waiting on me when I got home last nigt.

My advice, try Netflix and if you want to make sure you get the new releases, send one back on Friday. They get them monday and your at the front of the line for the new ones. Has worked for me every single time.

Netflix has almost every US DVD released including TV shows, anime, indie films.

If you like more than just the new movie releases it's a great way to see a huge variety of movies and TV shows.

Netflix is awesome, I have never had a single error or problem in last year. I have the 4 at a time plan, and I usually watch 4 movies a week. If I mail them back on Monday I get the new movies on Wednesday.

I've had it for 4 years or so and ive had at least 3 broken discs and only 2 or so that were not broken but still unplayable. Overall a very good ratio

Sounds like you ran into the clutch script that slows down your input of movies (delivered to you). It took a court order for them to reveal that they do indeed slow down those users that request more than an unspecified number of movies per week/month/whatever.

Why don't they have a NetFlix for pr0n? They could just run the discs through a cleaning machine after the customer returns them.

Unlimited hentai for only $9.95 a month! :p

We've had the three-at-a-time plan for about a year. In most cases I have new movies two days after I put the old ones in the mail. I've received one broken (in half!) and two scratched discs, but upon reporting them NF they immediately sent out replacements. We get about 12-15 per month.

I wish movieflix.com had somethign about the quality... If it were HD - i'd be all about it, but really I don't do netlfix anymore because I dont have time to watch that many movies, and they're not HD.

I used netflix and blockbuster in college, both were great.
