netflix "watch it instantly"

I watched it on my laptop over wifi.

the movie started instantly, didn't stall/lag at all over the course of it, and the quality was pretty good.

depends on the speed of your connection. With my 384kbps DSL, it takes around 30 minutes. With faster connections, it starts instantly.

How good is the quality?

I had Blockbuster Online for awhile and really liked it...I canceled cuz I was pissed they took away unlimited exchanges, but even still, the lowest plan (which is what I'd get) still seems like a better deal than Netflix. $10 instead of $9/month, but you get 2 free in-store exchanges (vs about 2-3 downloaded movies), and those can be DVD or Blu Ray, both of which I assume are better quality than the Netflix stream.

I love it but I wish they had a better selection. I enjoy watching classics, History and A&E channel specials, etc, and they've got very little in the way of those.

Yeah, I've used it and think its pretty good - starts almost instantly, and pretty good quality. The selection is quite small, but I assume it'll improve. I also assume that many movie studios may not be too happy w/internet streaming, or they might want an extra cut. Once these things are worked out, I hope the selection will grow dramatically. The convenience of movie-on-demand is great...

cool... just watched the a-team.... wow, i didn't know the term "getting out of the closet" exist back in the 80's.....

You may want to check back -- I signed up for Netflix a few days ago after I received an email advising that my plan was increasing by $2. Literally--I saw the email, signed into Blockbuster, cancelled the account, and then signed up with Netflix. After dropping my unlimited exchanges to 5, I find it absurd that they would increase the fees, too. These changes, btw, were back-to-back; there was only about 4-6 weeks between the two actions.

If I am not mistaken, ALL of their rental plans with in-store exchanges went up at least $2. The unlimited exchanges went from $17.99 to $24.99 in November, and now increased to $34.99, I think.
