Netflix Watch Instantly

Greetings, all!

So, I'm interested in the Watch Instantly feature for Netflix (with regard to TV Shows), and have 2 quick questions:

1. Can anyone tell me if Psych and Monk are available as Watch Instantly options? The specific DVD pages don't indicate whether they are or not, as I do not yet gave an account.

2. Is there a place, on the site or elsewhere, where I can find a full list of the Watch Instantly options? I've been to here:

http://www.netflix.com/BrowseSelection?sgid=gev

However, that only shows a few options, and there is no option to search or browse based solely upon whether they can be watched instantly, at least not that I have discovered.

Thanks!

1. No, neither of those shows are available in Watch Instantly. Some episodes of each are available on Hulu.com, though.

2. Not that I know of. I'm willing to bet the only way you'll find out is if you sign up for the service.

There is a watch instantly tab at the top of the page and when you click on it, you can browse or search the watch instantly titles available. Also when you browse the regular pages you can tell if it is available to watch instantly because the button will be half-red/half-blue(which says play). Also when you add it to your queue, there is a tab on the queue page that lets you know how many titles currently in your queue that can be watched instantly.

Netflix's watch instantly leaves much to be desired. Most of the titles available of lame or terrible, plus there is the added DRM in their player. It may or may not work on your PC. On my desktop, it never works. On my laptop it works fine. Vista 64 and Vista 32, respectively.

Does it seem like the video quality on watch instantly is worse than what is available on hulu to anyone else?

I tried Netflix and I cancelled my account. I'll reactivate if and when they susbstantially beef up their instant view selection. A vast majority of the titles available are ancient.

Netflix's instant playback looks a lot better then hulu for me. I've only had Netflix about two weeks now and last night was my first problem with the watch instantly. Took a couple mins for the buffer to build up when I went to watch a crappy zombie movie.

They've got quite a few TV shows. I'm watching Heroes Season 1 now. And I know Heroes S2 and Jericho are available by Watch it now. I'm using an HTPC so I can put the watch it now stuff on my 46" LCD, and I think it looks pretty darn good. Not DVD quality, but pretty good.

Also of note is the fact that not all episodes of every season are available to watch instantly. I missed the first part of an episode of the new outer limits on sci-fi and went to see it on watch instantly and that episode was available to be queued only.

there is a tab for just instant content

they just signed a deal with CBS and Disney to add TV shows from those two companies

there is a way to not only watch netflix instant content from Vista Media Center, but you can also download/save to your hard drive the movies for future watching or to watch on other devices on your home network or laptop (like on an airplane)
