Netflix turnaround time?

When I first signed up, I could put the DVD in the mail on Monday and receive the next on Wednesday. I mailed three this past Monday. Of those, one will arrive on Friday and the other two aren't even listed as "received." Anyone else experiencing delays this bad?

Every now and then they have a hiccough, but for the most part, we've had good luck. Had one lost DVD so far through them, and they even found that eventually.

Edit: That is to say, we're not having delays right now. What processing center do you use? We use Tacoma, WA.

I live near Detroit, they have a center in Lansing. I have had about 2-3 days turnaround always. Never more than 3. Put it in the mail Monday, I get a new one Wed or Thurs...

The processing center is in Denver, I live in the Springs. What's even weirder is that I've had the same DVD arrive broken.. twice. This will be the third time I've requested it.

Anyway, thanks for the replies. I'll keep waiting.

THe thing you have to remember is you need to put other movies on the list incase those aren't available right then so you at least get something shipped. The other thing is, as you finish the movie, put it in the mailbox and select the other ones for shipping so that they can ship before your's is received. This way, you can regularly have movies to watch.

Heh, I'm in hawaii so it takes about 4-5 days for a DVD to get here. Usually I send them in on monday, get a confirmation on wed or thurs and recieve the next set on monday or tuesday.

Netflix was great during the 14 day trial. Sent DVD's back on Monday, Netfilx received on Wednesday, and received new movies on Friday. Right after I became a paying customer, they mysteriously started to take 2 days longer to process the DVD's I return. Last week, sent em back on Monday, wasn't processed until Friday, and didn't get new ones until Monday. This week the same thing is happening as my DVD's that I sent back on Tuesday weren't processed today so probably won't be until Friday or Monday. Its very unlikely that the mail is all of suddent taking two extra days to get to Netflix - I wonder what game it is that they are trying to play with me. Definetly won't be a customer past the first month if Netflix continues the shenaningans...

Agreed: if you mail finished movies ASAP, you're better off (not that we always do that, hehe). In NYC, the turnaround depends. Usually it's like a day to get back to them and a day or two to get the next movie. Their email predictions are usually off by a day (more early than late). So, for example, they'll say the next DVD is supposed to arrive on Friday, but it arrives on Thursday.

That's not typical, my times have maintained a steady average of about 2.5 days for over a year. In earlier Netflix threads, most long-timers have also reported average times that stayed the same or went down as centers opened near them.

turn around depends on you having enough movies in your list to make sure at no time is there a chance of all movies behing outa stock. i just tossed in eberts great movies and other top movies lists..acadamy award winners, tv shows like hbos lineup, sopranos/sex and the city six feet under ... fills up pretty fast.
