Netflix on PS3 = Garbage

Is it just me, or do I find it completely hilarious that you need a Netflix DVD in PS3 to steam? -- Why don't they just provide it as a firmware update?

They will eventually, but this was the fastest way for them to get something working out the door.

I think someone mentioned that it might be because of some kind of licensing issue, but I don't really remember what. Otherwise, I would think that just issuing a firmware update would have cost lots less money to do versus actually mailing out physical discs.

I don't really care for the interface, but I haven't used the PS3 Netflix a whole lot since my Live Gold subscription is still active. Once that runs out though, PS3 Netflix all the way. Hey, the price is right, so I can deal with a slightly ugly presentation. 😛
