Ok, I've been using my 360 for Netflix and my roommate's been using her parent's subscription through my PS3. With this update, I really would like to start using the PS3 to access my account without having my roommate mess up my queue and recommendations with the crap she watches. Is there a way to have two Netflix accounts connected to on PS3? Can it be handled through PS3 profiles?

Anyone able to download this yet?

And where would you go to download it? Pretty unfamiliar with all things PS3.

Some gaffers are reporting that they've already gotten it this morning, but a couple of others say they're not seeing it yet. One guy said he put the disc in and it told him that the disc wasn't needed any longer, at which point it put the icon in the video section. Upon launching, it updated to version 2.0 and he was good to go.

Just checked. No updates available. :(

Update: Ok, I just checked the Video section and there is a Netflix app to select. Once selected it installs something. I can't really fully test it because I don't have a Netflix account, but I think that's it.

Just installed this morning. Quality seems much crappier than my Roku HD box - both are sitting right next to each other and are using wireless connections.

Have you watched more than just the first couple of minutes? I noticed when I switched to my PS3 for Netflix viewing from my 360, the PS3 seemed to always be pretty low quality when it started out, but after a few minutes, the quality had significantly improved as it buffered more.

Quality is fine in my opinion. Similar to when I used to have a computer hooked up to the television. Very convenient.

I installed it this morning but didn't really play with it till now. Interface is pretty nice but I wish they would tell you if something was in HD/5.1 sound in the popup when you stop on a movie. Having 5.1 sound kicks ass.

Same with me. On the 360 it buffers before the video is played so it takes longer to start, but it's always high quality. On the PS3 the first minute or so looks like a blown up youtube video, but it starts immediately and buffers while it plays.

I like the interface on the PS3 version better than the 360, but I hate having to use my PS3 controller to browse through stuff. Why... WHY doesn't the PS3 have an IR port?

I don't like having to sign up for PSN. Has anyone found a way around it? You don't even have the option of using the disc anymore.

the new app is pretty cool. I like how they increase the amount of movies that show per selection. With the old app was limited to 75-100 movies per category. Now it showing upto 250 movies per category.

...you need to be signed up to PSN to use the disc in the first place...otherwise how would the disc go online to find the movies...:hmm:

I've used a logitech 550 for nearly two years now with PS3 and my entire system. works like a charm. The only thing it can't do is power on the PS3.

you can spend an extra $100 and get one of the IR converters though that will give you that extra function, though...

there is always that option which is what I use. Sucks having to buy one though just to use a remote.

see, that's nuts.

just get one of these

http://reviews.cnet.com/playstation-3-accessories/nyko-blu-wave-infrared/4505-9999_7-32608476.html

for like 10 bucks. The USB IR converter will work with your universal remote.

again, the only thing you can't do is power it on...mostly unnecessary if you're getting up to load a BD, anyway. 40 dollars more for power on? ...nah.

I love the interface. It's miles better than the old PS3 UI or the current 360. Everything is quicker and it seems like the initial buffering is lightning quick now, too (not that it was a slouch before).

You're incorrect. I don't have a PSN account and it worked beautifully up until today.

It takes a couple minutes to sign up, it's free, and you can set the PS3 to automatically log you in. There's not much there to really complain about...and either way, I'd say it's worth it for Netflix.
