God I almost want to go back to the old fashion drive to blockbuster.
I think renting from a local place works best for me, I used to use Netflix years ago when throttling wasn't an issue and you could cross ship DVD's allowing you to get many more in and out every month.

I cancelled netflix and got starz. I didn't use netflix enough, and I catch many more movies a month on starz, at a lower cost.

Tuesday new releases ship out on Monday, so Mailing back a movie on Monday is a day too late.

Movies are first-come first-serve so if someone else added the new release to their queue 3 months ago and you just added it this week Netflix gives them the movie.

You must learn queue-jitsu to get the new releases you want on their first day.

OK, so let's say I add the movie to my queue months in advance. What's the best way to make sure that it gets sent to me? Do I send in my old movies on wednesday or thursday and pray? Is there some secret move you can do to make sure it doesn't prematurely send you a different movie?

For any new release, I return a movie the previous Friday. They do not ship anything over the weekend so they usually receive the returned movie on Monday morning, then will ship the next day's new release if its 1st in queue.
