Netflix releases Android app for select HTC phones, Samsung Nexus S

Well, it looks like the LG Revolution won't be the first Android phone to get Netflix after all. The app has just hit the Android Market and is apparently available for HTC Incredible, Nexus One, Evo 4G, and G2, plus the Samsung Nexus S. As you might expect, there's not much in the way of surprises in terms of functionality -- you can resume watching where you left off on your TV or computer, and you can browse movies and manage your instant queue on your phone. Hit up the link below to try it out if you have one of those in your possession.

Meh. Can't even get netflix, so I don't really care. But I do think that Netflix is being a bit overly paranoid about the whole certification thing. I predict it'll be like HDCP; if people want to crack it, they'll find a way no matter how Netflix tries.

I have my fingers crossed that they can get past these hardware limitations. Having netflix on my Nook would be sweet.

This doesn't jive with the hardware DRM BS from Netflix and Qualcomm, in either MWC or CES, when they were talking about the next gen Snapdragons in the LG Revolution or the Evo 3D. Oh well, the app is live now.

Reported to work on Galaxy S models running Gingerbread. Getting it is another thing, of course...

It's the MPAA not Netflix. Netflix has to do anything the MPAA says.

I installed it on my NS. Although I don't understand why anyone would need this. I guess this is good to pass time when needed but it severly lacks the quality and enjoyment you would get watching this on your tv with a roku or some other way.
Quite overrated.

Why no TB support? Same hardware as other phones in the list, Verizon not watching people to destroy their LTE network? :p

Not that bad, I guess though, its not like the TB would last through a even a 45min TV episode on 4G. :p

Sweet, streaming works. Now where's my non-streaming queue management function? Kind of surprised they would have an app for streaming before establishing basic functionality. Granted I may have overlooked it...

Just installed this on my Droid X, which of course has the latest GB leak. Works just like it should.

Couple people in the XDA thread claim that the buildprop tweak method works on the Nook Color with CM7.

Works on my OG Droid with CM7. If my replacement EVO ever gets here it will actually be useful. Been waiting for this for quite a while.
