I bought a server to play with, and it came bundled with more hard drives than I need. I am trying to determine a fair asking price, so I don't get taken, and so I don't seem like I am trying to rip anyone off.

The hard drive specs are:

- Formatted capacity: 18.2GB
- Interface type: Wide Ultra2 SCSI
- Maximum throughput: 80MB/s
- Platter RPM: 10,000
- Form factor: 1" high (low profile)
- Average access time: 8.99ms
- Seek time: 5.4ms
- IBM Part Number 36L9749
- new, in sealed IBM box
- includes Netfinity hot-swapable tray

These are new, still in sealed OEM IBM box.

What is a fair price for a fast sale? TIA.

if they are new, they are worth about 300$ .. good luck, ( FS/FT forums would be a good place, or ebay )

$300 may be pushing it a bit, considering you can get a new 18 gb IBM ultrastar 10k rpm, Seagate 18gb Cheetah 10k rpm, or Fujitsu 18gb 10k rpm all for around $140 from pricewatch vendors.

For $300, you can get a 18GB 15,000 rpm Cheetah X15 🙂

while you are right, it may not be the best deal, that is what it sells for, on pricewatch. you could put it on ebay and get 300$, i wouldnt sell it for 200$ if could sell for 300$ .. jus my opinion ..
