I've currently got a -500 dollar balance on my Paypal account, from a person that refused to pay for the laptop I shipped him. He put a stop payment on his credit card, and after he recieved it.. cancelled the stop payment and called paypal to reverse the charge against me.

3 months later.. no dice. No returned emails, no returned phone calls, just an automated 'you own XXXXX amount of money'

Neteller, fast immediate service via their only 24/7 online chat with customer support, the ability to cash out your money via check, the fact that their deposits into international accouts are just as fast as their accounts in the United States is a major plus. Summarily there are no fees, except for a 1.9% levy if there is a currency exchange.

When they called my house to confirm my phone number, name and address, I got a nice fellow who asked me how my day was, and told me to have a good day at the end of the conversation. It was very nice compared to that automated bullsh!t paypal gives you.. summarily your online statements for neteller look exactly like online banking, and you can have a debit card that allows you to directly draw out of your account.

I just wish it had wider appeal.

Down with paypal!

So far, I don't see anything different than PayPal. PayPal support may not be great, but it's fast and it works.

I tried to start up an account with them a while ago so I could transfer some money to a poker site but they were disallowing new accounts from MD. Has anyone from MD been able to create an account succesfully?

Neteller is faster, communication is better, smaller service fees.. the only problem is that it's not widely accepted.

Paypal also doesn't have direct debit to your balance.

Anybody > PayPal. Glad you finally realized it.

There are a lot of options out there for sellers. I use a merchant account and I couldn't be happier.

Fees are the same or less than with PayPal, and no dealing with PayPal's Buyer Protection bullsh1t.

Buyers just go to a website gateway, enter their CC info, enter their shipping/billing info, and the money is transferred directly into my bank account with no action needed. There is no middle-man holding my money...it goes straight from the buyer to me.

What many PayPal users find out (often a little too late) is that money in your PayPal account is NOT your money...it's PayPal's until it is transferred to your bank account.

PayPal has no accountability. They can limit your account and freeze your funds without providing a legitimate reason...typically all they will tell you is "we have recieved information about suspicious activity with your account", followed by a request for a lot of information they have no right to ask for. Then they can legally keep your account frozen (along with any money in it) for 180 days even if you comply with all their requests.

PayPal is fine for small transactions, but it's a liability for larger ones.
