Looks like a hard drive with a NIC on it. I don't really see the problem with adding a cheap drive inside an existing PC and sharing it as a network resource, but this thingie could come in handy in a few situations I guess.

It probably works great if you have no use for a real server and don't need built-in backup options (RAID, tape, burner), but you are paying $150 over the drive price (ignoring Hot Deals $80 drives) for the embedded mini-server that's running the drive.

No I didn't get one yet. I'm waiting for the 160gig version to be on sale. Plus I never feel good about large rebates.....thanks for the info.
