I read a review last night. I cannot remeber where or which netbook, but it said the Atom struggled to play youtube videos full screen. Is that true? I find it hard to believe.

Also I have been looking at the Aspire One 6 Cell, 1gig, 120gig HD, and XP and the Asus 901 6 cell, 1gig, 4gig SSD/16gig SSD, and linux. I will probably put a copy of XP I have on the 901. The 901 is about $40 more from where I plan to buy it. Which one should I get?

The battery life for the 901 is listed at 7.5 hours, but he One is only listed at 5.5 hours. Does the One really do that much worse than the 901? They are almost the same except for the HD's

Another option is the 1000H, but I think I like the smaller size better. It cost about the same as the 901.

hold out for the dual core atoms. they are starting to trickle out and you should see a refresh of netbooks in the next couple months

Yeah that was my plan, but the 30% ebay keeps tell me to buy something. I was also wanting to wait until the low powered chipsets started showing up also.

I highly doubt the atom cannot play fullscreen youtube videos.

My 701 can play them fine and its a celeron. It's an super slim nlited XP though, so perhaps the PC that had choppy vids had a bunch of bloat on it.

I've just purchased a 901 as well. I like the battery life and easy SSD access to upgrade when the SSD prices will eventually fall. Plus an 8 cell battery is only like $60 on ebay, so you're getting 10+ hours of battery depending on your tweaks. With the 30% live cashback it was a no brainer since the only thing I hated about my 701 is the screen size, which is addressed in the 901.

For me, I really don't see the need to wait for a dual core. Current systems can very nearly play 1080p content (my 701 does 720p fine), and if you're trying to play things that intensive you probably have the wrong machine.

In one SSD on 901 faster than the other one? Could you use the larger one for the OS and the smaller 4gig one for a page file or something?

I just ordered the 900HA. For $379.00 + 30% off, it seemed like a good deal. I picked it because it had a HD instead of the slower SSD's, plus the EEE 900's have alot of extras you can buy. You can get a 10cell battery for $50 or add a touch screen for $90. The EEE just seems to have more user / 3rd party support for it.

Now to sale my Nokia N770. If you are interested PM me.

I have found youtube to be oddly choppy. I have no idea why, because hulu is perfect. This is on the Dell Mini. This is not FS though, I didn't try that. Anything flash/web 2.0 heavy hits pretty hard too.. like the dell site.

30% off ... i never thought of looking at ebay for these. I might do that. Altho, I'm still waiting for MS to paypal me my cashback from before... 7 days is up dammit.
