Netbook upgrade - win7: 32 or 54 bit

I have the MSI netbook with the AMD 1.6GHz CPU and ATI 1270 graphics. I hear everything runs slower in 64 bit, is this true because and should I stick with 32 bit on this machine. 64 bit will be more future proof so should I go that route?

64 bit main advantage is your OS can use more than 3gb of ram. On a netbook it would be of no use since your probably at 1 or 2 gb max. I would say in your situation go 32 bit. It's still more compatible with more programs and hardware.

You would just be wasting hard drive space using 64-bit on that machine. Netbooks by design are not meant for heavy computing. Basically a browser and possibly office productivity software like a word processor or spreadsheet. Netbooks aren't really meant to be future proofed, since they are cheap and are sold for a specific purpose, portable net access. By the time that one is useless your next netbook will prob come with 64-bit software.
