Hi,

need to help someone who needs a netbook, for school--

There was a great deal on the Lenovo S12 a few months ago--$350 or so.

That would be perfect--

Ideal would be: Lenovo, for good keyboard.

11 or 12 inch screen

Windows 7 starter or regular

6 cell or better battery. (For school, so needs to last entire day.)

Thanks for any help!

10 inch netbook with 2GB memory and Windows XP is all you need for school.

Thanks Rottie and Olds,

this will be used at a school with a "laptop" program, so, needs to be have at very minimum XP pro--needs to be able to join domains--so I guess it needs to have at least Win7 Premium....which I see a lot of netbooks carried at Newegg offer....

Again, thanks!

nah the hp's are okay on keyboard. they had the best keyboard from day 1. xp home is like $20 to oem's; xp pro is considerably more. figure out a way for you to get the o/s and buy whatever model you feel most comfortable with.

check out the hp business outlet for cheapie's with xp pro.

honestly win7 pro/ultimate runs better than xp/vista on netbook;2gb of ram; decent 2.5" hard drive (avoid 1.8" or cheap ssd).
