I've got my eye on one of the 10" MSI Wind netbooks, but am curious how others feel using them on their laps. Are they too small & light for comfort?

The size is fairly comparable among them all within screen size. The biggest difference is the keyboard. I went with the HP mini because of this. It was the only one I could get my hands on that I could actually type. The Asus 1000 was close but still a bit to cramped. The only others I could find in person was the Dell Mini that was unusable and the Acer One that was better than the Dell but way to small for me. It is definitely a YMMV deal so if you can try before you buy.

Thanks, but I was asking more of the comfort of the laptop itself, not the keyboard. I'm used to a 15.4" laptop resting on my lap and wasn't sure if a 10" laptop would be similarly comfortable.

Your question really can't be answered, simply because everyone is different and my comfort level is different than yours...With that said, I find my Asus 1000H very comfortable on my lap.

I find the MSI Wind to be pretty comfortable sitting on my lap...and this is coming from my 17" laptop (I've used a 15.4" before). The only thing I could note is that I have to keep my legs pretty much closed together so it has something to rest on. It's not a big deal, though. I also have little trouble typing on it, though it takes a few minutes to get used to it.

The MSI has a real good keyboard and keyboard layout. The HP keyboard I did not like at all....keys too close together. The Dell is horrible..keyboard stinks

I went with the Lenovo S10e... keyboard layout has some quirks, and the screen is 1024x576...but it holds 1.5 GB of ram and works well. And I got a great deal on it....saved $100 over the MSI.
