Net10 Android

I use a Net10 dumb phone, but don't really make many calls, so at 150 minutes per month, I still rack up a lot of extra minutes. I was thinking an Android phone would be a good way to use them up, but I don't know if it works like that. Are any of you familiar with the way Net10 works? Can talk minutes be directly used as data minutes? I don't really need data on my phone generally, but sometimes it would be handy. Using the above scheme would be a good way to do it on the cheap.
