.net framework full not present, is it a problem?

You don't need it unless you need it. It's like java. If you don't use java programs, you don't need it installed.

Likewise, anything that needs .net is most likely going to have the redistributable for .net included with it or otherwise direct you to install .net

the full vs client thing was only for .net 4.0, and I believe all it took out was some of the asp.net/server side only items that where not really needed.

99% of the time you would will be ok with just the client, or if you have installed 4.6 you will be back to full anyway as 4.6 covers the whole 4.x family
