There is some applications that ask for me to have .net installed on my Win2K pro box at home.

Pros & cons to this addition?

Eventually you will have to install it so don't worry about it. It's an optional download at this point, but pretty soon most of the applications you'll find will require the runtime.

I'll save my .NET enthusiasm for another thread.
