A new video game store opened up in Western Maryland. They have great prices and hard to find games...all cartridges. They do have a lot of other stuff as well...Microsoft, Sony, Atari.

I am no employee in any way nor affiliated with the business. I am just sharing my experience at the store. I have went twice, and bought a bunch of stuff each time. They also take orders and ship items.

Oh, it is in Western Maryland. Their info is on their Facebook page.

Once again. I DO NOT work for Cartridges Galore. I AM NOT affiliated with Cartridges Galore in any way.

Your store looks awesome, but Cumberland is too far for me to drive. Do you plan on opening up any other stores, maybe in Annapolis or on the Eastern Shore?

Fuck these guys. Resellers and pickers are why nobody can find anything anymore.

Do explain

Collectors and gamers have to compete with resellers at yardsales and such where they buy games for 50 cents then flip them for $50+. Gamers who actually appreciate and want these games vs people who just make a living flipping and reselling used goods.

Worse they spam Craigslist offering to buy everything in multiple cities and even hire people to camp multiple yardsales simultaneously to buy everything up to flip and resell because retro gaming is popular now.

Same reason you can't find a 70 Challenger for less than $100k is the same reason you can't find Earthbound for less than $600. Pickers and resellers crowding everyone else out.

People bringing them in is one thing and it still sucks, but I gaurantee places like this are responsible for all the solicitation spam on craigslist.

Can't even go to yard sales anymore because resellers make it their full time job to refresh craigslist all day and email spam people days before their yard sale even to snatch up anything good before the day of the sale.

I may have taken your initial comment too literally, because I think it would make it easier find them. In terms of price, then yeah it's harder to find them at decent deals.

I hate resellers with a passion. Drives prices sky high and makes life hell for legit collectors who enjoy garage sailing and finding old cartridges in the wild and forces everyone to have to go to the same 5 resellers who have 15 copies of a single game everbody is looking for on EBay, etc if they want anything.

No boxes for the carts? No thanks. When I was a collector I'd buy in full condition only (cart, case, manual). Any schlub can amass a large collection of just carts. That defeats the point of the hunt for me.

Exactly. I've even reached the point of buying just the boxes and manuals online for games where I own just the cartridge (I know, more expensive in the end, but this way I can chose the condition for the cartridge, manual, and box).

I buy from this place called ToyRatt, out in Milton, west of Toronto. Has everything under the sun there, including old records and movies.

Yeah there was a time where I wouldn't purchase unless all advertising materials were included (Nintendo games typically). That got hard fast because it's difficult to find that stuff. I settled for box (in decent shape), cart, and manual. I liked the complete look and it felt more rewarding than just going to the local used game shop and buying a bunch of carts and sticking them on a shelf.

I'll agree with the person who said they hate resellers. There are a couple of local stores around me that are notorious for buying complete games online or locally and then shelving them in the store only to just want to sell you the cart or flip the complete game for 8x the price they paid for it. They'd hoard carts too so they always had inventory for older games if they just sold the cart. It was annoying and I got into a few bidding wars with them at local auctions/sales, etc.. Nothing sucks more than to lose out on a nice mintish copy of Toe Jam and Earl complete for the Genesis for 20 bucks and watch them try to flip it for 75 because of the "collectability" of it. I can't stand resellers and pickers either.

One last time, this is NOT my store in any way. I shop there, I do NOT work there nor do I own it. I BUY from them, that is all. If you are trying to arouse me by keep accusing me of it being my store, so be it. Your just wasting your finger strength by typing.

I posted it because I figured people would like to see a store selling this stuff. So if all your going to do is accuse me of soliciting a store, that I have no affiliation with, then carry on.

I did however, buy a NES from them in the box for $90. One small issue with the styrofoam inside though. Only one they had and I picked up a mint SNES as well. Hence my post about the SNES working with a HDTV and what cable was needed. As a matter of fact...I am heading back there today to pickup a copy of Final Fantasy 2 and The Legend Of Zelda A Link To The Past. Matter of fact, I just may grab the NES Advantage I seen in their pictures too.
