Nervous and Excited

DaShen

Lifer
Getting off of work soon, and starting classes again.

It has been about 3 years since my last class. I am all nervous and excited at the same time. Wish me luck. If all goes well, this first day of class will be the ongoing thing I will be doing for the next 10 years or so (if I can get a fellowship afterwards). Working and going to school until I get all of my prereqs done and then if all goes well, I will quit in a few years and go do my thing.

If it doesn't go well, there is always law school (with my CS and the science prereqs I will be doing, Patent would be an option) or opening a business (two things I would probably do very well in, but not what I am passionate about). Oh well, leaving for school in half an hour. YIKES!!!!...

Breathe, just breathe...

Hope it was better than my first day at college. I work full time so I left work plenty early to get there in time. Traffic was a little thick but I still had 15-20 minutes to spare. 2 red lights away from the college *FLAP FLAP FLAP FLAP FLAP FLAP FLAP*

flat tire....

Pulled over into the gas station and changed that bad boy like a NASCAR pit crew on nose candy.

Holy crap! Good luck. I took a year off to work and find my bearings before going back to school. It wasn't too bad.

Don't sweat it. Three years is actually not that long of a time to be out of school, and you will get back in the habit very quickly.

I think I am having a panic attack.

Hold on there man.

I'm 31, have three kids. work 45 a week or more and started night school last August.

Best thing I've done for myself in a long time.

You can do it, and the accomplishment you'll feel will filter into the rest of your lif as well.

It can certainly be annoying and stupid, but it's WAY better than work 🙂

You'll do fine.

I never had the habit to begin with. I wasn't such a good student. I could actually count the number of times I went to class my frist 3 years of college on my hands. But I did pick up some good study habits later, after some big hurt on my GPA. 😉 Oh well, that is old news. Hopefully, I have learned from that experience.

Good luck/ I'd love to have the opportunity to go back to school.
Darn work schedule just doesn't let it work out.

Could you take Internet classes?

You may find it easier after the layoff. I was out of college for 2 years before going back for my MBA. It was much easier with a bit more maturity. Good luck.

oh well... gl hf 🙂

Nah, the right girl hasn't come along 😉

Or....
more so....
An amazing girl came along but the cards just weren't right and I didn't win the hand if you know what I mean. 😉 🙁 But no matter, after I get over this affliction from this one girl (we are friends and I wasn't a jerk about being rejected <she had reasons that are totally out of my hands> 🙁 ), there are plenty of "fish in the sea" that are interested in me. Plus, after she gets over those things, I may ask her out again, but only if the cards are right (otherwise I am comfortable just being friends with a very cool person). What sucks is that I know 3-4 girls that like me (don't ask me why? I don't even understand), but I don't think it would be right for me to do anything till I get over these silly feelings.

BTW, class was interesting. I am still nervous, but I am studying now, so no worries. Plus, for the classes I took, I got the books a couple weeks before, and I am 2-3 chapters ahead in both classes. 😀
