Has anyone used this. If so please explain. I am a little gun shy as I do not want to mess up my burner.

I am using 80 min CD's / 700 meg.
 
It won't hurt your burner. Just bump up the number a little bit and see how it goes. Unless you have a specific need to do it don't bother. It won't give you that much extra on a cdr.
