Ok...I bought a DVD burner.
Previously I had a CDRW and used nero 5.5 Apparently 5.5 doesn't support burning dvd's in general, or my drive(NEC ND-2510A). I preferred nero over the roxio that came with my CDRW so I downloaded the nero6 demo to try it out, I like it, and would prefer it over the roxio software..but I seem to have some type of conflict that makes me reluctant to pay $50 for a license.

Basically what happens is this; If the nero6 demo is installed (which is same as full but limited time use, correct?) If it's installed...as soon as windows finishes loading, "messenger" crashes and closes. I don't use messanger, so I don't care much, but it seems like with messenger closed Outlook express won't load(stays on splash screen).

I tested uninstalling and reinstalling nero like 2 or 3 times....if its not installed windows loads normally, if it is then messenger crashes.
running windows xp sp1

Ideas, suggestions?
Thanks for any help.

Read about this at CDFreaks. Nero 6.x appears rather buggy. Workaround: open Windows Messenger, click Tools->Options->Preferences and uncheck "Run when Windows starts" and "Allow to run in the background". In OE, click Tools->Options and uncheck "Automatically log on Windows Messenger".

See if this helps...
